Frequently Asked Questions
I have linked a contact to the incorrect Flex Contact ID. What should I do?
You can unlink the contact. Go to the contact page and unlink the Flex Contact ID. This will prompt you to go through the linking flow again.
I do not have visibility permission to the contact in Flex. Will I be able to link the contact?
If you are sure that a contact exists in FLEX but it's not coming up in your list, it's likely you do not have the correct permission. Please reach out to us via support@brokerengine.com.au or via the chat bubble in your account.
How do I change the primary contact owner in BrokerEngine?
The primary contact owner cannot be changed in BrokerEngine. Contact the Master Agent or a Loan Writer in your organisation that has visibility permissions.
How do I make sure all my 'in progress' deals have a Flex Contact ID?
Each time you interact with a contact in BrokerEngine, the system will run the search to attempt to link to the existing contact in FLEX. This means over time, all your contacts will be linked without needing to manually match them all at once.
When I update a contact in Flex, will the data update in BrokerEngine?
No, the data currently is only pushed from BrokerEngine to FLEX.
When I update a contact in BrokerEngine, will the data update in Flex?
Yes, this data is updated in FLEX in realtime.
When I delete a contact in BrokerEngine, will the contact also be deleted in Flex?
No. If you would like to also remove the contact from FLEX you will need to go into FLEX and delete.
I have recently moved Broker Group, what will happen to my contacts?
This will depend on the terms agreed upon between the original organisation and the new organisation. Please confirm with your Partnership Manager or contact Broker Support.
Do I need to link the contact again when I duplicate a deal card?
No.
What fields are used to search for a matching contact in FLEX?
We require at least First Name and Last Name. However, it will also search using Date of Birth, Email, and Mobile Number.
What fields are pushed through to FLEX when I update a contact?
The following fields push through and overwrite FLEX if data has been entered in BrokerEngine: First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Title, Date of Birth, Home Address, Previous Address, Home Phone Number, Mobile Number, Work Phone Number, Email, Gender, Marital Status, Citizenship, Residency Status, Previous Name, Current Employment.
Note: If there is existing data in FLEX for this contact in the above fields and you leave the field blank in BrokerEngine, BrokerEngine will not overwrite the existing data.
What happens if I link a contact incorrectly and then unlink?
When a contact is linked it will immediately trigger a push to Flex. Any details will be pushed to the linked contact and overwrite the data in Flex. The contact can then be unlinked and linked to the correct contact, however this will not revert the changes in Flex.
