Create your first lead or deal on BrokerEngine using live client data or test data. Each record of a lead is called a lead card. Each record of a deal is called a deal card.

Prerequisites
If you create a lead or deal with test data, be sure to enter an active email address. BrokerEngine does not send the contact an email notification when you create a lead card, but you'll eventually need an active email account as you move through the steps.

Creating a lead or deal card
Log in to your BrokerEngine account.

Go to the side menu and expand the Boards folder.

Click the Leads link.

Click the +New button. A popup window displays.

Fill in the form fields. (see below)

Click the Add Lead button to save the form and add a lead card to the dashboard.
To create a deal, click Deals on the Boards menu and follow the steps below. It's the same process if you would like to create a card on any of your dashboards. Select the appropriate dashboard and then the +New button.
Filling in the form fields
The steps below show you how to create a lead card. Creating a deal card follows the same steps. One difference you'll see is the list of options on the drop-down menu when you assign a stage.
Basic info

Lead Name - Add the contact name.

Broker - Confirm the correct broker name is in the field. Click the field to select a different broker. (optional)

Applicants
Use this field to pull one or more existing names from your Contact list into the form. Enter a name in the search bar and select an option.

If the applicant is not in your Contact list, you can add the name right now. Click the Add New Applicant button. In the popup window:

Enter a first and last name.

Enter an email address.

Optionally add a mobile number.

Click Add Applicant.
This is enough information to create a contact record. Now or later, you can add or update the information in the contact form. To add more details now, click the All fields tab and fill in some or all of the fields (e.g. home and work address, spouse details, etc.).

Optionally, repeat the steps to add more applicants to the form.

Editing an applicant
After you add an applicant, BrokerEngine displays the name and email address plus two new fields.

Click the first field to apply a different tag (the default tag for the first name is Primary applicant).

To edit the applicant's information or remove the name from the form (but not from the contact list), click Remove.

Assigning a stage
Go to the next field and assign a stage to this lead. Click the field and select an option. Normally, we recommend the New Lead tag when creating a new lead, but you might want to apply a different stage if the lead is further along in the process (e.g. you're ready to collect documents).

Lender
The default setting is Other, which is a generic placeholder. If you know the lender, click the field and select an option.

Assign team and user roles
These fields are not normally completed when creating a new lead. Optionally, you can assign a team or individuals to specific roles (e.g. loan processor, CSM, etc.).

Opening the lead or deal cards
You can open any lead or deal card from the dashboards.

Log into your account.

Click Boards > Select the appropriate board.

Scroll through the board or enter the name in the search bar.

Locate the lead and click the name of the card. Clicking the name once will open the quick view slider.

Click the View Full Lead button to expand to the full DealDash.
Optionally, double-click the card name to open the card in Full View mode.
